Yannick Verrycke


Yan­nick Ver­rycke assists emerg­ing and estab­lished growth com­pa­nies in a wide vari­ety of com­plex cor­po­rate and tech­nol­o­gy mat­ters, includ­ing ven­ture cap­i­tal financ­ings, merg­ers and acqui­si­tions, tech­nol­o­gy trans­ac­tions and strate­gic alliances in a broad range of sec­tors and industries.

He acts for clients at all stages of devel­op­ment – from entre­pre­neurs seek­ing com­pa­ny for­ma­tion advice, to start-ups secur­ing addi­tion­al growth fund­ing, and growth com­pa­nies pur­su­ing buy-and-build strategies.

Yan­nick reg­u­lar­ly pro­vides advice to fund man­agers on the estab­lish­ment and the oper­a­tion of invest­ment funds, includ­ing on the strate­gic aspects of fundrais­ings, car­ried inter­est arrange­ments and co-invest­ment schemes. 

In addi­tion to his core prac­tice, Yan­nick fre­quent­ly assists soft­ware and healthtech com­pa­nies in their day-to-day chal­lenges by struc­tur­ing and nego­ti­at­ing a wide range of tech­nol­o­gy and com­mer­cial trans­ac­tions. Rep­re­sen­ta­tive mat­ters include licens­ing arrange­ments, research and devel­op­ment col­lab­o­ra­tions, joint-ven­tures and oth­er arrange­ments involv­ing the com­mer­cial exploita­tion of tech­nol­o­gy and intel­lec­tu­al property.

He is a fre­quent speak­er at var­i­ous accel­er­a­tor and incu­ba­tor pro­grams for tech­nol­o­gy start-ups on top­ics such as investor readi­ness, cor­po­rate ven­tur­ing mod­els, co-founder arrange­ments, and equi­ty incen­tive plans for employees.

Yan­nick is a rec­om­mend­ed indi­vid­ual in Legal500 and IFLR1000 for Cor­po­rate and M&A.


Pri­or to being a part­ner at Cresco, Yan­nick worked as a senior asso­ciate in the firm’s cor­po­rate tech­nol­o­gy depart­ment (20142017), as an asso­ciate in the cor­po­rate and trans­ac­tions depart­ment of Ambos NBGO (20112014) and Lau­rius (20092011).

After obtain­ing his law degree (UA, 2008), he obtained an LL.M. in cor­po­rate law (KUL, 2009) and ven­ture cap­i­tal (UCLA, 2012).
